Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.52% or 0.410 points to trade at 16.650 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) added 1.94% or 0.700 points to end at 36.710 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was up 1.64% or 0.290 points to 17.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which lost 1.28% or 4.57 points to trade at 353.41 in late trade. Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) declined 1.26% or 1.76 points to end at 138.26 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 1.16% or 0.290 points to 24.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 131 to 109 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.50% or 6.59 to $1304.01 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.60% or 0.80 to hit $50.70 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.92% or 1.06 to trade at $56.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.15% to 17.7707, while EUR/MXN fell 0.96% to 21.1439.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 92.20.
