Investing.com -- U.S. stocks were bouncing back slightly from Tuesday's rout. Here are the midday movers for Sept. 14:
- Twilio Inc (NYSE:TWLO) stock rose 12% after the cloud communications company said it was going to lay off 11% of its staff as part of a restructuring aimed at boosting profit.
- Moderna Inc (NASDAQ:MRNA) stock rose 5.7% after a Reuters report that it had talked to China about supplying its Covid-19 vaccine to that country.
- Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) stock rose 5.5% a day after its investor presentation as executives forecast double-digit earnings per share gains in the coming quarters.
- Nucor Corp (NYSE:NUE) stock fell 10% after it cut full-year estimates, citing weakness in its steel mills business.
- Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) stock fell 1.9% after a report it was preparing to submit a new plan to regulators regarding its risk management systems.
