Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 2.35% or 0.58 points to trade at 25.23 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 2.03% or 0.305 points to end at 15.335 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.07% or 1.55 points to 145.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which lost 1.68% or 0.051 points to trade at 2.993 in late trade. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) declined 1.20% or 0.38 points to end at 31.33 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 0.94% or 0.680 points to 72.010.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 59 and 5 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.17% to 11.25.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.18% or 0.66 to $56.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.40% or 0.86 to hit $62.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.91% or 11.50 to trade at $1254.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1791, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.63.
