At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index climbed slightly 0.01%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap were also up. The TSX Venture rose 0.09%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.50%.

- First Quantum Minerals (TSX:FM): Increased 4.42% or 0.77 points to 18.18.
- Ivanhoe Mines (TSX:IVN): Climbed 2.73% or 0.46 points to 17.31.
- Intl Petroleum (TSX:IPCO): Declined 2.39% or 0.37 points to 15.08.
- Shopify Inc (NYSE:SHOP): Dropped 1.73% or 2.66 points to 151.43.
- Secure Energy (TSX:SES) Svcs: Fell 1.78% or 0.29 points to 15.98.
In Commodities Trading:
- February Brent Oil Contract dropped by 1.14% or 0.83 points to 72.05 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for January delivery fell 2.05 points to 68.53 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for February delivery increased 24.55 points to 2,632.65 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is stable at 1.4378.
- EUR/CAD is trading at 1.4937.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 107.845.
