Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 1.00% or 2.15 points to trade at 217.50 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 0.98% or 0.86 points to end at 88.57 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 0.65% or 0.05 points to 8.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.31% or 1.020 points to trade at 77.070 in late trade. Relx NV (AS:RELN) declined 1.08% or 0.210 points to end at 19.205 and Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) shed 0.98% or 0.48 points to 48.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 59 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.00% to 9.67.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.52% or 0.30 to $57.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.43% or 0.27 to hit $63.68 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.70 to trade at $1262.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1820, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 93.23.
