Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Utilities and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.54% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY), which rose 7.76% or 3.71 points to trade at 51.54 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 5.54% or 2.19 points to end at 41.71 and Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC) was up 4.86% or 5.9 points to 127.4 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SalMar ASA (OL:SALM), which lost 4.26% or 16.20 points to trade at 363.80 in late trade. BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG) declined 3.90% or 1.18 points to end at 29.04 and Norwegian Finans Holding ASA (OL:NOFI) shed 1.60% or 1.40 points to 86.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 96 to 81 and 23 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.35% or 0.25 to $71.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.29% or 0.23 to hit $78.20 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1289.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.61% to 9.5584, while USD/NOK fell 0.17% to 8.1090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 93.38.
