Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and Diversified Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 13.93% or 0.15 points to trade at 1.22 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) added 11.77% or 2.0 points to end at 18.8 and Orkla ASA (OL:ORK) was up 3.98% or 2.95 points to 77.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which lost 2.82% or 0.3 points to trade at 12.1 in late trade. Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) declined 1.48% or 3.6 points to end at 240.0 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) shed 1.28% or 0.21 points to 16.19.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 72 and 14 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.91% or 0.84 to $43.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.44% or 0.67 to hit $45.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.55% or 7.25 to trade at $1310.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.13% to 9.2674, while USD/NOK rose 0.90% to 8.3060.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 96.00.
