Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Electricity and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Andino Investment Holding SAA (LM:AIH), which rose 5.99% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.770 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 3.08% or 1.44 points to end at 48.22 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.86% or 0.020 points to 0.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rimac Seguros y Reaseguros (LM:RSR), which lost 2.56% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.520 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 2.55% or 0.012 points to end at 0.458 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 2.46% or 0.030 points to 1.190.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 15 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.57% or 0.34 to $58.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $62.56 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 5.30 to trade at $1331.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.20% to 3.2750, while EUR/PEN rose 0.89% to 4.0395.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 89.59.
