Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 2.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 9.52% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.460 at the close. Atacocha (LM:ATB) added 9.26% or 0.050 points to end at 0.590 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was up 7.10% or 0.110 points to 1.660 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bolsa de Valores de Lima SAA (LM:BVL), which lost 1.47% or 0.050 points to trade at 3.350 in late trade. Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) declined 0.86% or 0.100 points to end at 11.500 and Intergroup (LM:IFS) shed 0.23% or 0.080 points to 34.910.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 26 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.10% or 0.06 to $57.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.22% or 0.14 to hit $63.37 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 7.10 to trade at $1264.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 1.54% to 3.2929, while EUR/PEN rose 0.88% to 3.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 93.25.
