Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which rose 5.56% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.950 at the close. Unacem (LM:CEL) added 2.10% or 0.060 points to end at 2.910 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) was up 1.94% or 0.130 points to 6.830 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which lost 3.15% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.230 in late trade. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 2.82% or 0.009 points to end at 0.310 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 2.70% or 0.020 points to 0.720.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 8 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.39% or 0.85 to $60.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.78% or 0.50 to hit $63.84 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 5.00 to trade at $1322.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.14% to 3.2580, while EUR/PEN fell 0.72% to 4.0077.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 90.11.
