Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Non-Metal Minerals and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 1.45% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) added 1.34% or 0.090 points to end at 6.800 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was up 1.30% or 0.160 points to 12.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 4.76% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.0600 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 3.53% or 0.030 points to end at 0.820 and Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) shed 2.53% or 0.240 points to 9.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 10 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.57% or 0.38 to $67.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $75.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 4.60 to trade at $1305.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.51% to 3.2790, while EUR/PEN fell 1.24% to 3.7994.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.46% at 94.93.
