Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which rose 5.26% or 0.300 points to trade at 6.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 5.00% or 0.030 points to end at 0.630 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 4.08% or 0.020 points to 0.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which fell 5.56% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.180 at the close. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 3.00% or 0.150 points to end at 4.850 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was down 1.69% or 0.060 points to 3.560.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 17 to 6 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Casa Grande (LM:CSG) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.00% or 0.150 to 4.850.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.15% or 0.94 to $44.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $50.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1104.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.05% to 3.2035, while EUR/PEN fell 0.03% to 3.4997.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 97.22.
