Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Paper & Pulp and Biotech & Medical Care sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167), which rose 10.00% or 3.35 points to trade at 36.85 at the close. Kuangli Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd (TW:6431) added 9.87% or 1.15 points to end at 12.80 and Solytech Enterprise Corp (TW:1471) was up 9.85% or 0.52 points to 5.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kee Tai Properties Co Ltd (TW:2538), which lost 8.85% or 1.00 points to trade at 10.30 in late trade. Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) declined 8.75% or 0.70 points to end at 7.30 and Spirox Corp (TW:3055) shed 6.10% or 1.15 points to 17.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 517 to 263 and 96 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.32% or 0.14 to $44.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.36% or 0.17 to hit $46.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.46 to trade at $1206.24 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.17% to 30.550, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2224.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.79.
