Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Services and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT), which rose 2.58% or 2.10 points to trade at 83.60 at the close. PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) added 2.53% or 34.00 points to end at 1376.00 and DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) was up 2.37% or 0.240 points to 10.380 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which lost 3.43% or 60.00 points to trade at 1690.00 in late trade. SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) declined 1.58% or 14.50 points to end at 905.50 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) shed 1.13% or 3.20 points to 279.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 84 and 55 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1313.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.66% or 0.47 to hit $71.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.45 to trade at $77.66 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.27% to 8.1683, while USD/PHP fell 0.17% to 51.931.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 92.88.
