Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Media and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 8.46% or 1.32 points to trade at 16.92 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 3.77% or 6.05 points to end at 166.70 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 2.21% or 133.65 points to 6178.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 2.72% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.86 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.00% or 1.04 points to end at 51.00 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) shed 0.85% or 2.45 points to 285.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 271 to 247 and 174 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.15% or 0.48 to $41.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.26% or 0.11 to hit $42.99 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1234.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.33% to 4.3087, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.8071.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 94.45.
