Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were OrangePL (WA:OPL), which rose 10.20% or 0.51 points to trade at 5.51 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 5.77% or 3.54 points to end at 64.84 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 3.76% or 0.92 points to 25.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which lost 2.92% or 0.41 points to trade at 13.64 in late trade. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 1.92% or 0.13 points to end at 6.64 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) shed 1.49% or 0.67 points to 44.24.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 252 to 235 and 194 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.57% or 0.30 to $52.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.38% or 0.22 to hit $58.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 4.80 to trade at $1274.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.31% to 4.2518, while USD/PLN rose 1.35% to 3.6364.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.83% at 94.31.
