Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Construction and Developers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 2.49% or 2.25 points to trade at 92.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) added 2.37% or 3.70 points to end at 159.85 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was up 2.04% or 0.33 points to 16.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 4.75% or 0.18 points to trade at 3.61 at the close. ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) declined 3.38% or 4.55 points to end at 130.05 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was down 3.14% or 0.25 points to 7.72.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 273 to 261 and 120 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) fell to all time lows; falling 4.75% or 0.18 to 3.61.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.92% or 0.41 to $44.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.08% or 0.54 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.31% or 3.40 to trade at $1093.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.05% to 4.1894, while USD/PLN fell 0.50% to 3.8201.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 97.65.
