Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.06% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 2.12% or 0.0850 points to trade at 4.1020 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.55% or 0.0640 points to end at 4.1840 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 1.04% or 0.135 points to 13.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.64% or 0.0038 points to trade at 0.2274 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.74% or 0.0220 points to end at 2.9510 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 0.49% or 0.0750 points to 15.2300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 14 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 2.62% or 1.48 to $57.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.19% or 1.11 to hit $51.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.13% or 14.62 to trade at $1312.12 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.95% to 1.1843, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.8805.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 92.46.
