Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.83% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.8890 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.73% or 0.2600 points to end at 15.2600 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 1.11% or 0.1500 points to 13.6450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.19% or 0.0029 points to trade at 0.2410 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.09% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.1810 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 1.03% or 0.0200 points to 1.9300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.37% or 0.23 to $61.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.01% or 0.55 to hit $54.78 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 10.35 to trade at $1325.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1444, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8715.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 95.273.
