Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 2.38% or 0.2850 points to trade at 12.2450 at the close. F.Rama (LS:RAMA) added 1.71% or 0.150 points to end at 8.900 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.54% or 0.0140 points to 0.9250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LS:SEM), which lost 2.42% or 0.5500 points to trade at 22.2000 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.67% or 0.200 points to end at 11.800 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.71% or 0.080 points to 11.120.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 9 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.48% or 0.37 to $78.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.23% or 0.17 to hit $74.31 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.41% or 5.10 to trade at $1258.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1668, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8823.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.21.
