Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.54% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 6.12% or 0.0122 points to trade at 0.2117 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 1.33% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.3050 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 1.05% or 0.0260 points to 2.5060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 1.13% or 0.1900 points to trade at 16.6050 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.06% or 0.1500 points to end at 13.9850 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.06% or 0.1600 points to 14.9400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.72% or 0.39 to $54.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.04% or 1.00 to hit $48.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.71 to trade at $1352.01 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.2037, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.9117.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 91.28.
