Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.65% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 2.61% or 0.0280 points to trade at 1.1010 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.66% or 0.2850 points to end at 17.4150 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 1.36% or 0.0760 points to 5.6530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 1.60% or 0.190 points to trade at 11.710 in late trade. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.85% or 0.0210 points to end at 2.4620 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 0.77% or 0.0290 points to 3.7250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.81% or 1.17 to $63.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.48% or 0.86 to hit $57.13 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.35% or 4.40 to trade at $1242.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1726, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8806.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 94.16.
