Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.51% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 5.24% or 0.540 points to trade at 10.840 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 4.00% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.2600 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 3.68% or 0.1290 points to 3.6360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which lost 0.67% or 0.0470 points to trade at 6.9200 in late trade. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.44% or 0.0110 points to end at 2.4680 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 0.03% or 0.0050 points to 16.1900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 30 to 5 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.60% or 0.40 to $66.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.23% or 0.14 to hit $60.28 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 4.00 to trade at $1313.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.2049, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 91.59.
