Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO), which rose 0.99% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.9175 at the close. Ramada Investimentos e Industria SA (LS:RAMA) added 0.62% or 0.050 points to end at 8.150 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.55% or 0.0300 points to 5.5100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 1.80% or 0.0320 points to trade at 1.7420 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.60% or 0.2300 points to end at 14.1450 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 1.32% or 0.0024 points to 0.1800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 2.76% or 1.73 to $61.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.72% or 1.47 to hit $52.57 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1282.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1367, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.8768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.917.
