Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.40% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.39% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.4290 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 1.82% or 0.0180 points to end at 1.0060 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.62% or 0.0480 points to 3.0120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 2.62% or 0.0920 points to trade at 3.4140 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.49% or 0.0063 points to end at 0.2464 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 2.26% or 0.3700 points to 16.0050.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.52% or 0.33 to $64.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.31% or 0.18 to hit $57.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.78% or 10.01 to trade at $1285.81 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1592, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 94.77.
