Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 2.02% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 1.20% or 0.120 points to trade at 10.120 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) fell 0.62% or 0.1050 points to end at 16.7600 and REN (LS:RENE) was down 1.05% or 0.0260 points to 2.4520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 10.07% or 0.0205 points to trade at 0.1830 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 5.69% or 0.2250 points to end at 3.7300 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 2.99% or 0.1300 points to 4.2160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 31 to 5 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 1.01% or 0.69 to $67.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.74% or 1.14 to hit $64.31 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.20 to trade at $1337.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.2424, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8856.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 89.30.
