Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Travel and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.64% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr), which rose 7.32% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.760 at the close. Hell.Exchanges (AT:EXCr) added 5.01% or 0.23 points to end at 4.82 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 4.42% or 0.008 points to 0.189 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 10.00% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.135 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 4.76% or 0.030 points to end at 0.600 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 4.72% or 0.005 points to 0.101.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 48 to 45 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.05 to $1213.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.36% or 1.56 to hit $47.92 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 3.39% or 1.59 to trade at $48.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.0623, while EUR/GBP fell 0.86% to 0.8518.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 101.00.
