Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Industrials and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 3.37% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 2.53%, and the TecDAX index climbed 2.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which rose 9.41% or 0.783 points to trade at 9.100 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 9.16% or 1.425 points to end at 16.990 and Siemens AG (DE:SIEGn) was up 5.90% or 7.40 points to 132.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which lost 0.37% or 0.12 points to trade at 33.38 in late trade. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) added 0.90% or 0.770 points to end at 86.370 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) gained 1.18% or 0.085 points to 7.259.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which rose 5.54% to 62.51, Osram Licht AG (F:OSRn) which was up 5.06% to settle at 60.750 and Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which gained 4.94% to close at 65.590.
The worst performers were Deutsche Wohnen AG Inh (DE:DWNG) which was down 0.59% to 31.180 in late trade, Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which lost 0.28% to settle at 36.075 and STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE:STAGn) which was up 0.23% to 64.600 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which rose 7.79% to 3.985, Software AG O.N. (DE:SOWG) which was up 4.60% to settle at 40.670 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which gained 4.52% to close at 53.840.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 4.39% to 60.270 in late trade, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which gained 0.43% to settle at 97.800 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 0.55% to 13.610 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 549 to 227 and 14 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 30.93% to 14.74 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.01% or 13.07 to $1276.03 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.58% or 0.29 to hit $49.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.21 to trade at $52.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.14% to 1.0850, while EUR/GBP rose 1.41% to 0.8488.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 99.03.
