Shell (BS:SHELl) (NYSE:SHEL) has announced the opening of their largest electric vehicle charging facility globally in Shenzhen, China.
The station, which boasts 258 charging stations, is located near Shenzhen Airport and is equipped with solar panels capable of generating 300,000 kilowatt hours annually, as confirmed by Shell.
According to an official statement, the station's operation is a collaborative effort between Shell and the Chinese EV industry leader, BYD (SZ:002594).
Currently, Shell manages approximately 800 EV charging stations across China, either through joint ventures or wholly-owned subsidiaries.
Shares of SHEL are up 0.49% in early trading Tuesday morning.
