At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index slightly climbed. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap were also up. The TSX Venture rose 0.13%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.58%.
- First Majestic Silver (TSX:AG): Increased 4.24% or 0.34 points to 8.35.
- Centerra Gold (TSX:CG): Rose 3.86% or 0.32 points to 8.60.
- Celestica Inc (TSX:CLS).: Climbed 3.32% or 4.80 points to 149.29.
- B2Gold (TSX:BTO): Dropped 4.16% or 0.15 points to 3.46.
- IAMGold (TSX:IMG): Declined 4.18% or 0.33 points to 7.56.
- BCE Inc (TSX:BCE): Fell 2.58% or 0.86 points to 32.52.
In Commodities Trading:
- March Brent Oil Contract dropped by 0.67% or 0.54 points to 80.47 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for February delivery fell 0.47 points to 76.83 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for February delivery declined 4.19 points to 2,674.41 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is stable at 1.4393
- EUR/CAD is trading at 1.4768.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 109.380.
