Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which rose 2.40% or 0.092 points to trade at 3.930 at the close. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) added 2.00% or 0.260 points to end at 13.290 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.89% or 0.260 points to 14.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 2.11% or 0.076 points to trade at 3.521 in late trade. Telefonica (MC:TEF) declined 1.56% or 0.127 points to end at 7.993 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) shed 1.40% or 0.225 points to 15.855.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 74 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.42% or 5.60 to $1312.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.30% or 1.43 to hit $63.56 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.07% or 1.37 to trade at $67.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.2260, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8754.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 89.89.
