Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 4.82% or 0.098 points to trade at 2.133 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 2.17% or 0.555 points to end at 26.160 and Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) was up 1.48% or 0.360 points to 24.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL), which lost 1.30% or 0.120 points to trade at 9.145 in late trade. Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) declined 1.17% or 0.215 points to end at 18.110 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) shed 0.58% or 0.13 points to 22.23.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 92 to 76 and 28 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.64% or 19.60 to $1213.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.80% or 1.22 to hit $69.05 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 1.44 to trade at $76.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.1628, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.9044.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 95.02.
