Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.62% or 0.655 points to trade at 25.660 at the close. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) added 2.60% or 0.310 points to end at 12.255 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 2.56% or 0.700 points to 28.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which lost 1.34% or 0.30 points to trade at 22.04 in late trade. Endesa (MC:ELE) declined 0.51% or 0.100 points to end at 19.525 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) shed 0.44% or 0.024 points to 5.416.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 58 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.01% or 12.00 to $1196.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.40% or 0.26 to hit $65.47 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.54 to trade at $72.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1459, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8965.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 95.86.
