Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which rose 5.00% or 0.243 points to trade at 5.103 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 3.03% or 0.152 points to end at 5.170 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 2.69% or 0.100 points to 3.824 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which lost 0.85% or 0.170 points to trade at 19.830 in late trade. Ferrovial (MC:FER) declined 0.80% or 0.145 points to end at 18.015 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) shed 0.60% or 0.06 points to 9.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 126 to 70 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 1.01% or 13.55 to $1330.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.72% or 0.77 to hit $45.52 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.88% or 0.87 to trade at $47.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1120, while EUR/GBP fell 1.27% to 0.8337.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 96.07.
