Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was up 13.06% or 2.90 points to 25.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 22.42% or 2872.50 points to trade at 9940.00 in late trade. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) declined 20.87% or 291.40 points to end at 1105.00 and Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) shed 13.46% or 95.80 points to 616.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 73 and 45 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.01% or 0.01 to $67.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $76.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 2.20 to trade at $1206.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.41% to 209.850, while USD/LKR rose 0.15% to 161.860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 94.90.
