Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Beverages & Tobacco and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which rose 57.14% or 0.800 points to trade at 2.200 at the close. Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) added 14.97% or 130.20 points to end at 1000.00 and Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) was up 10.65% or 8.80 points to 91.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lanka Ventures PLC (CM:LVEN), which lost 8.16% or 4.00 points to trade at 45.00 in late trade. CIC Holdings PLC (CM:CIC) declined 7.56% or 7.40 points to end at 90.50 and Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) shed 6.79% or 1.90 points to 26.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 58 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.09% or 0.04 to $46.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.63% or 0.30 to hit $47.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.75 to trade at $1341.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.44% to 191.875, while USD/LKR rose 0.22% to 146.650.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.33.
