Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Singer Industries PLC (CM:SINI) was up 18.26% or 12.29 points to 79.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS), which lost 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 in late trade. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) shed 10.79% or 5.20 points to 43.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 57 and 61 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.85% or 0.59 to $69.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.14% or 0.11 to hit $79.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1202.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.23% to 211.655, while USD/LKR rose 0.15% to 162.510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 95.10.
