Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power & Energy, Plantations and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.17% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) added 18.67% or 56.00 points to end at 356.00 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 11.57% or 6.10 points to 58.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 14.94% or 256.00 points to trade at 1457.00 at the close. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 9.97% or 199.30 points to end at 1800.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 8.33% or 0.10 points to 1.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 132 to 106 and 15 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.79% or 0.77 to $43.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.26% or 0.62 to hit $50.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.89% or 9.90 to trade at $1117.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 208.430, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 133.750.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.77% at 96.49.
