Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 added 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which rose 3.65% or 12.3 points to trade at 349.1 at the close. Svenska Cellulosa SCA AB B (ST:SCAb) added 1.97% or 1.6 points to end at 80.6 and Electrolux, AB ser. B (ST:ELUXb) was up 1.58% or 4.2 points to 270.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which lost 1.66% or 0.82 points to trade at 48.72 in late trade. ABB Ltd (ST:ABB) declined 0.83% or 1.7 points to end at 203.5 and Alfa Laval AB (ST:ALFA) shed 0.79% or 1.6 points to 200.1.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 332 to 281 and 48 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.39% or 0.24 to $61.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $65.19 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1330.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.20% to 9.9689, while USD/SEK fell 0.04% to 8.0938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 89.82.
