Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which rose 5.33% or 16.3 points to trade at 322.3 at the close. Fingerprint Cards AB ser. B (ST:FINGb) added 4.55% or 0.44 points to end at 10.10 and Boliden AB (ST:BOL) was up 3.70% or 10.10 points to 283.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB B (ST:HMb), which lost 4.66% or 6.6 points to trade at 135.0 in late trade. Telia Company AB (ST:TELIA) declined 0.13% or 0.05 points to end at 37.16 and Essity AB B (ST:ESSITYb) gained 0.13% or 0.30 points to 223.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 350 to 262 and 45 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.25% or 0.15 to $59.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.46% or 0.29 to hit $63.01 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.38% or 18.40 to trade at $1348.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.08% to 9.9241, while USD/SEK fell 0.22% to 8.0100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 89.29.
