Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Trading & Consumer Goods, Electricity and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.14% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Adimmune Corp (TW:4142), which rose 10.00% or 1.75 points to trade at 19.25 at the close. King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) added 9.99% or 3.70 points to end at 40.75 and LCY Chemical Corp (TW:1704) was up 9.95% or 4.75 points to 52.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661), which lost 10.00% or 14.50 points to trade at 130.50 in late trade. Cub Elecparts Inc (TW:2231) declined 10.00% or 34.00 points to end at 306.00 and Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424) shed 9.78% or 3.50 points to 32.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 501 to 305 and 108 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.22% or 0.15 to $68.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $72.97 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1230.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.20% to 30.637, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2218.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.15.
