Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Glass, Trading & Consumer Goods and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gamma Optical Co Ltd (TW:3557), which rose 9.95% or 0.600 points to trade at 6.630 at the close. CX Technology Corp (TW:2415) added 9.93% or 3.00 points to end at 33.20 and Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518) was up 7.97% or 3.10 points to 42.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018), which lost 9.95% or 6.60 points to trade at 59.70 in late trade. Wisher Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1465) declined 8.31% or 1.45 points to end at 16.00 and Ching Feng Home Fashions Co Ltd (TW:9935) shed 6.27% or 2.00 points to 29.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 451 to 323 and 94 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.17% or 0.09 to $51.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.14% or 0.08 to hit $57.08 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.45 to trade at $1290.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.22% to 30.322, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2197.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 92.96.
