Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lite-On Semiconductor Corp (TW:5305), which rose 9.96% or 4.00 points to trade at 44.15 at the close. Lextar Electronics Corp (TW:3698) added 9.92% or 2.60 points to end at 28.80 and APAQ Technology Co Ltd (TW:6449) was up 9.89% or 4.10 points to 45.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465), which lost 8.45% or 2.05 points to trade at 22.20 in late trade. Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) declined 6.74% or 1.60 points to end at 22.15 and Anji Technology Co Ltd (TW:6477) shed 5.26% or 1.40 points to 25.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 390 to 363 and 124 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.69% or 0.40 to $58.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.22% or 0.14 to hit $63.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.04 to trade at $1291.16 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.08% to 29.981, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2200.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.12.
