Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.16% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Falcon Power Co Ltd (TW:1516), which rose 9.94% or 1.55 points to trade at 17.15 at the close. Young Optics Inc (TW:3504) added 9.91% or 6.80 points to end at 75.40 and Makalot Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1477) was up 7.94% or 12.50 points to 170.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which lost 9.99% or 43.50 points to trade at 392.00 in late trade. Merida Industry Co Ltd (TW:9914) declined 9.60% or 12.00 points to end at 113.00 and Ta Chen Stainless Pipe Co Ltd (TW:2027) shed 7.76% or 3.95 points to 46.95.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 503 to 285 and 112 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.11% or 0.07 to $66.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $76.49 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.60 to trade at $1234.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.09% to 30.927, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2239.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 95.75.
