Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Trading & Consumer Goods and Paper & Pulp sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taisol Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3338), which rose 9.98% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.05 at the close. Ritek Corp (TW:2349) added 9.88% or 1.250 points to end at 13.900 and SciVision Biotech Inc (TW:1786) was up 9.86% or 6.30 points to 70.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Accton Technology Corp (TW:2345), which lost 9.97% or 9.60 points to trade at 86.70 in late trade. Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) declined 9.94% or 9.80 points to end at 88.80 and Jentech Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3653) shed 9.93% or 8.50 points to 77.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 576 to 222 and 108 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.71% or 0.50 to $71.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.42% or 0.33 to hit $79.73 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1209.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 30.779, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2225.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 94.03.
