Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Biotech & Medical Care sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Fulgent Sun International Holding Co Ltd (TW:9802), which rose 10.00% or 5.10 points to trade at 56.10 at the close. Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) added 9.98% or 3.15 points to end at 34.70 and Arcadyan Technology Corp (TW:3596) was up 9.97% or 7.90 points to 87.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475), which lost 10.00% or 1.20 points to trade at 10.80 in late trade. Makalot Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1477) declined 4.66% or 9.00 points to end at 184.00 and I-Hwa Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1456) shed 4.50% or 0.30 points to 6.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 404 to 399 and 119 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $52.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $60.67 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.65 to trade at $1291.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.04% to 30.838, while TWD/CNY rose 0.11% to 0.2193.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 95.607.
