Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434), which rose 10.00% or 1.35 points to trade at 14.85 at the close. Cyberlink Co (TW:5203) added 9.96% or 6.90 points to end at 76.20 and Power Quotient International Co Ltd (TW:6145) was up 9.96% or 0.72 points to 7.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026), which lost 10.00% or 24.00 points to trade at 216.00 in late trade. Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492) declined 9.92% or 31.00 points to end at 281.50 and Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) shed 9.83% or 0.53 points to 4.86.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 403 to 369 and 143 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.25% or 0.18 to $71.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.15% or 0.12 to hit $79.40 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 3.10 to trade at $1288.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.21% to 29.915, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2131.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 93.26.
