Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Cement sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chiu Ting Machinery Co Ltd (TW:1539), which rose 9.96% or 2.35 points to trade at 25.95 at the close. Kee Tai Properties Co Ltd (TW:2538) added 9.92% or 1.20 points to end at 13.30 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) was up 9.87% or 2.95 points to 32.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Darfon Electronics Corp (TW:8163), which lost 9.98% or 5.90 points to trade at 53.20 in late trade. General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:6456) declined 9.97% or 19.00 points to end at 171.50 and Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) shed 9.92% or 0.47 points to 4.27.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 597 to 216 and 98 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.11% or 0.08 to $69.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $77.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1205.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.10% to 30.718, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2211.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 95.05.
