Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Trading & Consumer Goods and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 1.33% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348), which rose 9.92% or 5.10 points to trade at 56.50 at the close. Everspring Industry Co Ltd (TW:2390) added 6.98% or 0.90 points to end at 13.80 and Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) was up 5.86% or 0.34 points to 6.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which lost 8.52% or 2.60 points to trade at 27.90 in late trade. Chroma ATE Inc (TW:2360) declined 6.83% or 9.50 points to end at 129.50 and Hiwin Technologies Corp (TW:2049) shed 6.75% or 17.00 points to 235.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 635 to 186 and 93 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.35% or 0.27 to $76.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.39% or 0.34 to hit $85.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1201.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.26% to 30.825, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2224.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 95.66.
