At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index climbed 0.63%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap were also up. The TSX Venture rose 0.64%, while the Smallcap was slightly up by 0.43%.
- Birchcliff Energy (TSX:BIR): Climbed 2.86% or 0.160 points to 5.760.
- Interfor Corp (TSX:IFP): Increased 2.25% or 0.40 points to 18.14.
- HudBay Minerals (TSX:HBM): Rose 2.49% or 0.31 points to 12.74.
- K92 Mining (TSX:KNT): Fell 1.76% or 0.17 points to 9.47.
- BlackBerry (TSX:BB): Dropped 1.82% or 0.11 points to 5.93.
- Bausch Health (TSX:BHC): Declined 0.54% or 0.06 points to 10.95.
In Commodities Trading:
- March Brent Oil Contract dropped by 0.18% or 0.15 points to 81.14 a barrel.
- Crude Oil for February delivery fell 0.02 points to 77.83 a barrel.
- Gold Futures for February delivery fell 4.99 points to 2,745.91 a troy ounce.
Currency Markets:
- USD/CAD is back over 1.44.
- EUR/CAD is trading at 1.4843.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 108.995.
